OpenHigh aims to demonstrate there is an alternative (or supplement) to the traditional high school learning experience by providing free open resources to support high school education.

What's Wrong with High School?

In many countries high school either forms part of the compulsory education system or is a requirement to enter college or get any kind of employment other than the most unskilled menial work.

High school appears to serve two functions. Firstly to provide an introductory broad-based academic education across a range of subjects. And secondly to prepare students to function as successful citizens, able both to provide for themselves and their future families, and to be positive members of society...

Recent months have seen a revolution in education. The combination of technological advances associated with the Internet and the online medium's spirit of openness has been grasped by innovative educators to produce of free, quality courses made available to the world.
